ORGANIZATION: Gift Wrap Station Weekly Challenge #4

Here is the 4th Weekly Challenge: Gift Wrap Station

I love this rolling cart as I can roll it where ever I want to wrap presents. This is especially helpful at Christmastime as I have a ton of presents to wrap and I like to sit in the Living Room and watch TV or a movie while I wrap.

Each drawer holds my different items: Ribbons & Bows, Gift Bags (general) and Gift Bags (Christmas).

I also have this Rubbermaid Gift wrap holder that holds all my rolled wrapping paper.

These pants/slacks hangers are great for ribbon.

 

This ribbon box holds my extra tape, Gift Card boxes and misc.

The drawer holds my tags, pens/markers & scissors.

This is my Ribbon's & Bows drawer (I store the extra's in here).

This is my Christmas Gift Bags drawer.

This is my (All Other) Gift Bags drawer.

Then I have a bag full of gift boxes. I recycle them from year to year. And sometimes buy new ones the day after Christmas when they are super cheap. :)

ORGANIZATION: Recipe Binder Weekly Challenge #3

Week #3 in the Weekly Challenge is the Recipe Binder.

I have had a recipe binder in my household for over 5 years now. It is where I keep clip its and torn out magazine recipes, recipes from the web, as well as all my tried & true recipes. It is full of recipes from all different sources.

For this challenge, I decided to make it look a bit more pretty. For years it has just been a large white binder. Nothing special. Here is what it looks like now.

I got the scrapbook paper at Target for a pack of coordinating sheets for 99 cents.

My dividers are just decorative manila folders cut in half and 3 hole punched.

My dividers that make up my binder are:

Appetizers

Beverages

Soups

Salads/Fruits

Vegetables

Breads/Muffins

Breakfast

Meats/Main Dishes

Pasta

Side Dishes

Desserts (pies, cookies, cakes)

This N That (spice mixes, misc)

Kids (Foods that are catered for kids)

Parties (Food for parties & decorating ideas)

Canning/Freezing

Birds (I make homemade wild bird treats)

Food Gifts (jar mixes)

Cleaning (handmade cleaners)

ORGANIZATION: The Landing Pad Week #2

Week #2: The Landing Pad

This weeks challenge is the Landing Pad. This is an area that is a constant struggle for us right now. We live in MN. Which means Cold, Snow, Wet. Which means lots of extra stuff: Snow boots, Snow pants, Bulky winter jackets, scarves, mittens, hats. And unfortunately all this extra gear takes up some major real estate.

This is my current "Landing Pad".

Although this is the area I would prefer the backpacks, boots, snow pants & coats be hung....

This is where they usually end up, right at the top of my stairs in my living room. : (

I do plan on changing this VERY SOON. A place that they can keep their backpacks and all the coats, shoes & boats. A place for my purse, keys, etc.

The Braden Entryway System

This is one of Ana White's (Knock Off Wood) plans! If you haven't heard of Ana White or Knock Off Wood you need to go check it out NOW!!!! No seriously! She has hundreds of plans in her catalog that are inspired by all our FAVORITE designer brands such as Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids, Ballard Designs, and many others. If you aren't afraid to try, she gives everyone (even us women) the confidence to try our hands at woodworking & succeed! Here is my first project of many I created with her plans & encouragement that I got from her blog!

I have a ton of projects of hers on my future "To Do List", but this is definitely one on the top of my list.

ORGANIZATION: Home Management Binder Week #1

 I am doing ANOTHER challenge by a Bowl Full of Lemons Blog. I had so much fun doing her last Organizational challenge & it helped me stay on top of ALOT of my organizational goals. I am hoping this next challenge will do the same!

This one is a bit easier, as it is a weekly challenge. So she announces the challenge on Sunday, and you have all week to get it done! 

Her first challenge is the Home Management Binder. This one really helped me gather all my daily and important info all in one place. It works great along with the "Mobile Command Center" I also created with "A Bowl Full of Lemons" 21 day challenge.

Here is MY version of the Home Management Binder!

I started with these supplies:

I got my binder from Target for under $6. I also used LOTS of FREE printables. Throughout this post I will show you what I use and where I got them all!!!!

This was one of the MAIN reasons I bought this particular binder. It is made with paper containing 100% recycled fiber and printed with non toxic soy based ink! This blog isn't called Sustainably Chic Designs for nothing! :) My BIGGEST passion is green & frugal living and this gets a A+ in my book! And it also helps this binder is SUPER cute!!! Love the pattern & colors!

My To Do tab.

This is really for my DAILY things I need to coral all in once place. I am a list maker, and usually have Lists all over the place. This is a nice, handy, and convenient place to make all those lists.

This is the FREE "To Do List" I found over at Moxie Works.net. (Also found over at Tip Junkie)

Tip Junkie is this GREAT site that sort of corals all kinds of cool ideas, tips, templates, printables, etc. Most of my FREE printables I found over there!

 

This is my cleaning tab! I have to say, since starting this binder, this has really helped me break down my cleaning chores & makes it much more manageable. I do a little each day (usually 15 mins).

Here is my Blog tab. The main thing I document for this area is my blog ideas and schedules.

I found this FREE printable over at one of my most FAVORITE Organization blogs "IHeart Organizing". You can get yours HERE! I LOVE this template. Jen makes all her stuff so COLORFUL & bright! It makes me smile just looking at this printable!!!! :)

Next up is my Family Info tab. This is where I store all important "Family & Friends" info.

This is where I keep all the important info like Health insurance numbers, policy numbers, hospital & clinic numbers. Our providers names and numbers, etc

The last tab I have currently in this binder is my Finances tab.

I just have my Budget printed out in here. This is something my hubby just typed up in Excel. It shows are monthly estimated bills, payments, debts, etc. It also shows where our extra money goes to.

We follow the Dave Ramsey plan.

Here is the label I created for the spine. Also using those FREE labels from "It's a Crafty Life". I just changed the font direction on it.

And I store my new Home Management Binder right next to my Mobile Command Center in my Media closet.
